Treant

I find that many a man tends to fawn over the grace of the wild elk, or the slick beauty of a Faeron panther. I, myself, am not entirely sure how they can be so quick to praise such beasts and yet overlook the stoic, alien majesty of the commonplace tree. A tree is both a silent companion and a valuable resource - something which ought to be treated with utmost respect - yet to the minds of men, it is more often regarded as an object. (For the record, I am of the opinion that the whisper of leaves in the wind makes for far more interesting conversation than the incomprehensible bile that most men will readily spew.)

So, perhaps it is my partiality to trees that brings me to be so fond of treants. There is some aesthetic beauty in the way the beast will slither through meadows on lithe roots... something appealing in the gnarls of its old bark, which cracks and creaks as the great fae teeters along through the mists. I have never passed by the chance to walk with one of these creatures and take the moment to admire the aura of simple tranquility in which it bathes.

So few in my world have had the chance to feel such ethereal beauty... but perhaps it is better this way.
